85 Padma-awarded physicians have spent lifetimes healing patients one by one. The Padma Doctors Forum exists to heal the system — together.
India's Padma awards represent the nation's highest civilian recognition of exceptional contribution. Among those honoured, 85 physicians — spanning every major medical specialty and every region of India — have chosen to formalise their collective commitment as the Padma Doctors Forum.
We are registered as a Section 8 not-for-profit company under the Companies Act 2013. This structure was deliberately chosen for legal accountability, financial transparency, and institutional credibility with government bodies, regulators, and the public.
There is no president. No secretary. No political hierarchy. Just physicians committed to getting things done.
To translate individual excellence into collective impact — protecting patients, elevating the medical profession, and contributing to evidence-based health policy in India — with full transparency and zero political agenda.
An India where every patient receives safe, qualified, evidence-based medical care; where the medical profession is respected, protected, and held to the highest standards; and where India's extraordinary healthcare value is recognised, celebrated, and continually improved by its own people.
Every position we take, every campaign we run begins with one question: does this make patients safer and better served?
We speak from published science, clinical data, and ground-level experience — not ideology, politics, or institutional interest.
We do not merely publish statements. We commit to deliverables, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
We hold the medical profession to the highest standards. That obligation begins with ourselves.
We are beholden to no pharmaceutical company, no hospital group, no political party, and no government ministry.
We represent every specialty, every region, every generation. No single voice dominates.
Selected by consensus from a comprehensive review of 40 issues across public health, systemic reform, professional standards, and policy.
Diabetes, hypertension, and obesity now constitute a national emergency. A physician-led public campaign backed by India's most decorated doctors carries extraordinary credibility with media, government, and the public.
Restoring the global repute of Indian doctors through mandatory continuing professional development, periodic re-examination and credit-point systems, and a National Observatory for minimum medical education standards.
Combating misinformation and driving awareness of HPV vaccination for cervical cancer prevention — a cause that is evidence-based, government-backed, and where this Forum's collective voice can shift public behaviour.
Deliberately lean. No hierarchy. No politics. Just execution.
